Safety Information

Safe. Fun. Christ-Centered.

At Carson Simpson Farm, we are dedicated to providing an extraordinary summer day camp experience where children can grow, explore, connect, and play in a safe and Christ-centered environment.

We follow all of the standards and procedures unique to keeping kids safe in a summer camp environment. Many of our procedures are outlined in our handbook (found on the Rates & Registration page). Some, but not all, of our additional safety measures are outlined here. If you have any questions about the safety of your camper or the camp facility, please contact us with your specific concerns.

Staff

Carson Simpson Farm adheres to the high standards of the internationally-recognized American Camp Association and follows the PA Department of Human Services’ guidelines for clearances needed for persons working with children and youth.
All CSF staff are trained by experienced camp leaders. Each staff member has three checked references and completes an in-person interview with year-round staff. They must have secured clearances from Childline, State Police, and FBI fingerprints. All staff undergo mandated reporter training and Ministry Safe Child Abuse training.

Procedures and Emergency Preparedness

Carson Simpson Farm follows the American Camping Safety Procedure Guidelines. We have physical safety implements, such as keypad entries on dorms and bathrooms and locks on doors. Our site has been evaluated by local police for safety. With the assistance of local law enforcement personnel, we have developed procedures to address various emergency scenarios. While camp is a very safe and faith-filled place, we believe in being as prepared as possible. Our staff is trained in all emergency procedures and campers take part in an emergency drill each Monday prior to camp starting.

Campers

Camper safety is a priority in all circumstances, and we ask for our camper parents to support our dedication to safety. CSF reserves the right to send home any camper who has a mental, physical, or emotional condition that is beyond our capabilities in providing a safe and beneficial camp experience. We reserve the right to send home any camper who poses a threat to the health or safety of themselves, other campers, or staff. (Learn more by exploring our Handbook.)
